Garden Grove Adult School
The Mission of the Garden Grove Unified School District’s Adult Education
Program is to provide its multicultural, multilingual community with life-long
educational opportunities need to fulfill personal and professional goal for
the future, and to facilitate full participation in an evolving diversified
society.
Garden Grove Adult School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools
and Colleges. A diploma received through adult school is equivalent to a diploma
issued by any of the high schools is the Garden Grove Unified School District.
Students have the option of an Independent Learning Center (ILC) or Independent
Study.
Vocational classes which include computer training and Cosmetology Apprenticeship are offered in the mornings, afternoons and evenings. There are
also GED, ESL, Older Adult, Citizenship and Parenting classes available. Most
classes are open entry/open exit.
Administrators, teachers, counselors, instructional aides and volunteers work
as a team to encourage and support student academic and vocational success.
Students are given opportunities to help teachers on campus as volunteers. For
example, students in the high school diploma program help in the ESL classes.
Students in vocational classes are given opportunities to learn new skills to
prepare for the workforce.
