The Grossmont Adult School diploma program is designed to meet the educational needs of these eighteen years of age or older. The program offers over 15 sections in high school diploma subjects and GED preparation. Grossmont Adult School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. A diploma received through adult school is equivalent to a diploma issued by any of the high schools in the Grossmont Union High School district.

Students, teachers, and counselors at the Individualized Learning program at Foothills Adult Education Center work together to promote student success. Classes are offered in the mornings, afternoons and evenings.

The effectiveness of the diploma program can be attributed to many factors: widespread availability of classes and flexible scheduling; individualized instruction; standards-based, rigorous curriculum; support services; and linkages with important community agencies that provide vital services to the student population. The open entry/open exit program with flexible scheduling provides students the opportunity to work at their own speed, which may result in rapid progress toward a high school diploma.

The teacher in the diploma program are instrumental to student success. They are inspiring and encouraging and valued for their teaching expertise. These teachers attend professional development opportunities and actively participate in curriculum development.
